Meet the Board

My name is Holly Martinez, I'm 42 years old, and I grew up in Fleetwood. Born at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, I now serve as the maternity matron. 

My entire family has always lived and been educated here in Fleetwood. After finishing school locally, I left to attend university and train as a midwife, qualifying at 21. I then moved to Hertfordshire to both work and start my own family. While away, I frequently returned home with my two daughters so they would experience the same childhood memories in Fleetwood as I did - nothing was more special than summer days spent at the beach chalet among family and the community. In 2019, changes in life brought me back to Fleetwood with my girls.

I want to join the people’s board to give parents in our area a voice and help ensure all young people have equal opportunities. It’s essential for our youth to have safe places where they can socialize and discover who they are. Today, many young people spend much of their time in front of screens and lack the confidence to learn, experiment, and connect with others. 

My goal is to help make Fleetwood the welcoming, family-focused community I remember from my childhood. Fleetwood's uniqueness and vibrant spirit mean its residents deserve the same opportunities and experiences available in affluent towns.
